Andy Cole names the two Man Utd players he played with who were even stronger than Roy Keane

Andy Cole played with some seriously strong players during his career.

Cole worked with the likes of Roy Keane at club level, while he played alongside the likes of Alan Shearer and Paul Ince on the international stage.

However, speaking to League of 72 on YouTube, Cole has made an interesting pick when asked to name his strongest ever teammates.

Cole says that two players at Manchester United were stronger than anyone he worked with, claiming that Dwight Yorke and Jaap Stam were actually the strongest players he’d ever played alongside.

Dwight Yorke and Jaap Stam the strongest players Andy Cole played with

Cole spoke about his strongest teammates.

“Strongest?” Cole was asked.

“I’d probably say Yorkey and Jaap,” Cole said.

Dwight Yorke deceptively strong

Jaap Stam was an incredibly strong footballer, but Dwight Yorke is an unexpected answer to this question it has to be said.

Standing at just 5 ft 10 and not necessarily being a hulking figure, Yorke, from the outside looking in, didn’t necessarily look like one of the strongest players in the game.

However, Cole knows Yorke better than almost any other footballer, and if he says he’s that strong, then you best believe that he was a remarkably physical player.

Sometimes it is the smaller players who are the strongest. Someone like Sergio Aguero when he was at Manchester City wasn’t the biggest, but, due to how he would use his body, defenders could never shrug him off the ball.

Yorke was a lot of things as a striker, he was a great finisher, a fantastic runner and a real creative force as well, and, while you may not think it, it sounds as though he was also an incredibly strong striker.
