‘So sharp’: Phil Foden says he’s been amazed by ‘unbelievable’ Man City player in training

Phil Foden has said that he’s been so impressed with one particular Manchester City player this season.

The Englishman recently brought an end to what has been a stunning individual Premier League campaign, where he scored 19 goals and provided eight assists in 35 matches.

In fact, his performances throughout the campaign led to him being named the Premier League’s Player of the Season, beating the likes of Declan Rice, Erling Haaland and Virgil van Dijk.

Now though, the 23-year-old has been sharing his thoughts on another fairly young talent in the City squad who has caught his attention throughout the season.

In a recent video shared on the Football Manager TikTok channel, Foden had this to say when asked who he thinks will be the next star player to emerge from City’s youth ranks.

He said: “Oscar Bobb. I see him every day in training. He’s so sharp and I think he’s going to be an unbelievable player.”

Bobb joined City’s youth ranks back in the 2019 summer transfer window and went on to make 114 appearances across all competitions, during which he scored 31 goals and delivered 33 assists, before making his senior debut in September.

Bobb’s impressive season

Prior to today’s FA Cup final clash against Manchester United, the Norwegian has featured in 26 games in all competitions, finding the back of the net on two occasions and supplying two assists.

After seeing Bobb score the later winner in City’s 3-2 away win against Newcastle United back in January, Pep Guardiola described the 20-year-old as a “dynamic” player with an “unbelievable” work ethic.

Now that Foden has shared how impressed he’s been with the winger during his first full season in the senior squad, this highlights just how much of a talent he is and why he’s at a club like City.
