'Very exciting': Pablo Sarabia says one Wolves teammate knows him so well, pair linked up for 'crazy' moment

Pablo Sarabia has been reminiscing on the season just gone during an interview recently and revealed there’s one Wolves player who knows him well.

For Wolves, the 2023-24 season was a weird one under Gary O’Neil with initial expectations to simply avoid relegation, but then the side will likely be disappointed with a 14th-place finish.

Old Gold was left short by Julen Lopetegui days before the campaign began and O’Neil deserves praise for the magic he worked for much of the season which even had Wolves in a race for Europe.

But with a weak squad and injuries, things tailed off toward the end, with four losses in the last five.

But one success story from the campaign was Pablo Sarabia who found his feet at Molineux and has now been discussing his favourite moment of the season along with naming one player who knows him well.

Pablo Sarabia shares his favourite moment of the season

As the summer break begins, Sarabia has been speaking with club media, in an interview which saw him reveal his favourite moment of the campaign.

“Tottenham was a crazy game. It was very exciting, and because of this, it was my favourite. It was a very good moment for me and made a difference for the season, and I was very happy for that moment.

“I enjoy it when I score – I enjoy it a lot for me and for the team, because I’m helping the team, but I liked the assist because we got the victory, and this moment was very exciting for the team and for the club.”

Continuing, Sarabia then shared that there is one teammate who knows him well and it was the man who contributed to this being his favourite moment, Mario Lemina.

“Always I try to see this kind of pass, and because of this Mario knows me and he decided to go to the space at that moment”, he explained.

It was Lemina who converted Sarabia’s assisted against Spurs which was at the time an incredible win.

Pablo Sarabia’s Wolves 2023-24 season review

After being far from impressive for Wolves in his first few months, after making the move in January 2023, Sarabia has really stepped it up this season.

A slow start which saw him play just 15 minutes in seven league games between September and November was ended when he scored and assisted to hand Wolves a win over Spurs in November, despite only playing three minutes.

After this, from December onwards, Sarabia was consistently impressive as Wolves picked up a rich vein of form during December and right through until March or early April.

He had a poor end to the season and ended up on the bench again but ended the season with an average rating of 6.98 with four goals and seven assists to brag about in just 20 starts and 1,748 minutes – which is a goal contribution every 159 minutes.

In summary, Sarabia enjoyed a solid second season, and it’s expected that he’ll only improve next season with Wolves hopefully strengthening in the summer.
