Emergency services called to accident on M20 near Junction 10 at Ashford after car ‘leaves the carriageway’

Emergency services are the scene of an accident involving a vehicle that has left the carriageway.

Police and ambulance crews have been scrambled to the scene of the crash on the M20 coastbound after Junction 10A at Ashford shortly after 2.30pm.

Pictures taken from the scene appear to show a single-car collision involving a vehicle which appears to have gone into some trees.

Fire crews are also in attendance and one eyewitness told KentOnline they “may have been trying to get someone out”.

One lane is currently closed due to the accident which National Highways says involves “a vehicle that has left the carriageway”.

Traffic officers are also at the scene and the area of the accident has been coned off.

Normal traffic conditions are expected after 4pm.
