How Arsenal reacted immediately after Manchester United won the FA Cup

Arsenal uploaded a post on X (previously Twitter) just seconds after Manchester United won the FA Cup final – which some have described as an embarrassing reaction.

Erik ten Hag pulled off a major shock when inflicting Pep Guardiola‘s first defeat in a domestic cup final since joining Manchester City, as goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo stunned the Premier League champions.

Keen to avoid Manchester United getting all the limelight – however – Arsenal decided to upload an interesting post just seconds after the final whistle at Wembley…

What Arsenal posted seconds after Manchester United FA Cup win

The Gunners were quick to remind everybody that they are the FA Cup kings after Manchester United defeated Manchester City.

Arsenal wrote: “We have a legacy in the FA Cup like no other team having lifted the trophy a record 14 times 🏆 📊 Can you name the players who started in each of our seven wins since the year 2000?”

The comments section of this post was unsurprisingly full of rival supporters calling Arsenal “embarrassing” and “shameless” – as the Gunners seemingly tried to deflect attention away from Manchester United’s achievement.

History will always remember the 2023/24 campaign as a season where Manchester United technically enjoyed the better outcome with a piece of silverware secured – despite finishing six places and 29 points behind the Gunners – so Arsenal presumably wanted to remind everybody of their quality in light of this harsh fact.

For all of Mikel Arteta’s hard work, he ends the season without a trophy, whereas the much maligned Ten Hag – who could still yet be sacked – added one to Manchester United’s cabinet.
