‘A big plus’: BBC pundit says £45m player would be a top signing for Arsenal

Ivan Toney to Arsenal is a transfer rumour that has died down a little bit as of late.

The England international was said to be one of the Gunners’ top transfer targets earlier this year, but after reports that Arsenal haven’t been so impressed by Toney’s behaviour recently, a lot of the noise has settled down.

However, speaking on the BBC Radio Five Live Football Daily Podcast, Kevin Nolan has talked up the idea of Toney joining Arsenal.

Indeed, the pundit says that he thinks Toney would be a positive signing for Arsenal, claiming that he’d be able to give them something different.

Ivan Toney would be a good signing for Arsenal

Nolan spoke about the idea of the £45m man joining the Gunners.

“I honestly think Ivan Toney could be a big plus for them (Arsenal). I think, you know, with what they have got in and around, to have that someone who can sort of give them something different, I think he could be the one. Isak at Newcastle is certainly another one. Them two have been named quite regularly with Arsenal and them sort of being interested,” Nolan said.

Toney could be a star for Arsenal

Ivan Toney is a player that divides opinion, but regaredlss of what you think of him, it has to be said that he’d bring something different to Arsenal.

Toney is a top finisher and a great hold-up player, and Arsenal don’t quite have a player in that mould as things stand.

The lack of a clinical finisher cost Arsenal in certain games last season, particularly against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, and signing a player like Toney could prove to be a gamechanger for the Gunners.

This rumour hasn’t been in the headlines so much as of late, but perhaps Arsenal should revisit Toney as a potential target.
