Report: £34m Arsenal player could leave this summer after poor performances in training

Arsenal may sanction the sale of a £34m player this summer transfer window after poor performances in training, according to a recent report.

Mikel Arteta will be in the process of identifying transfer targets ahead of the fast-approaching summer transfer window.

Though, equally, he will be deciding who to move on as The Gunners will likely have to trade to stay in line with Financial Fair Play regulations.

That said, it has just emerged, that one player could be leaving the club.

Fabio Vieira could leave Arsenal this summer

According to The Athletic, Arsenal are considering the sale of Fabio Vieira after poor performances in training.

The report notes his squad status has ‘diminished considerably’ and now he could be on his way after making just two starts in the Premier League last term.

The £34m%20deal.) signing from Porto less than two years ago just hasn’t quite worked out as he’s struggled to nail down a regular spot in the starting 11.

With Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard in the midfield ranks, it’s a pretty tough task to surmount them in the pecking order.

Arsenal to sell Fabio Vieira or Emile Smith Rowe

The Atheltic’s report claims that Vieira and Emile Smith Rowe could move on in the summer, though, it seems unlikely both will be departing as it would leave Arteta a little light in midfield.

Smith Rowe, despite lofty potential, should be the priority departure purely due to Financial Fair Play reasons, as he’d generate pure profit because he’s homegrown.

That would allow Arsenal to spend more elsewhere, so if they are to sell just one, it may be Smith Rowe.
