Daizen Maeda 'can't sleep' after what the Celtic fans did at Hampden in the Scottish Cup

The Celtic players would have enjoyed their Scottish Cup win against Rangers at Hampden yesterday and the ensuing celebrations that would have happened after it.

In a tense game where the Celtic fans were confident about winning the cup, it took an 87th-minute Adam Idah goal to win the final 1-0 and spark a night of festivities that will have been enjoyed by the fans and players alike.

But it wasn’t partying that kept Celtic winger, Daizen Meada, awake last night.

Celtic fans blew Daizen Maeda away

Maeda had another very good game for Celtic against Rangers yesterday. The Japanese winger gave James Tavernier another torrid time down that left-hand side as he continued to get the best out of the Rangers captain.

And as he settled down for the night, Maeda sent out a tweet on social media channel X, about why the Celtic fans denied him a well-earned rest last night.

The Celtic fans gave Joe Hart one last farewell at Hampden yesterday after giving him an ‘outstanding’ send-off at Parkhead last week.

The veteran goalkeeper took off his gloves one last time to end his Celtic love affair after helping Brendan Rodgers keep his 100% win record in the Scottish Cup and the Celtic fans showed their appreciation one last time for their departing hero.

For Celtic, the arduous task of replacing the big Englishman will begin in the summer and it’s one that Rodgers knows he needs to get right.

As for Hart, we will still be seeing the Celtic hero on our screens this summer. A punditry gig awaits Hart as the departing goalkeeper will be appearing on the BBC to offer his thoughts on this summer’s Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.

But for now, the Celtic fans will now need to make peace with the fact that Hart will no longer be the man between the Parkhead sticks and that is something that will sting the Hoops support for now.
