Johan Mjallby says Brendan Rodgers' has an ‘interesting’ dilemma ahead of Celtic vs Rangers game

With the big Scottish Cup final day getting closer, the Celtic fans will be looking forward to a game against Rangers with a fully fit squad.

Over the course of the four SPFL league games against Rangers, Celtic have had injury issues to contend with which has made negotiating these fixtures a little bit more challenging for Celtic boss, Brendan Rodgers.

However, despite that, Celtic were still unbeaten against the Ibrox club as they picked up 10 points out of 12 in the four Glasgow Derby’s.

And for the upcoming Scottish Cup final, it seems that Brendan Rodgers has a full-strength side to choose from.

Rodgers’ ‘interesting’ James Forrest call

The Celtic manager is in a very good position heading into the game. No injuries and with his players hitting form, for the first team this season he has a positive selection headache to deal with.

And it is one that former Celtic hero, Johan Mjallby is looking forward to seeing how he deals with it.

Mjallby said [Daily Record], “It will be interesting to see if Brendan picks James [Forrest] again because he’s been in such great form. I was here with Neil when he came through as a young player.

“He’s a terrific lad and it’s great to see him still performing. It’s fantastic when you look at the success he’s had over the years. We knew he was a player. He was sensational when he first came on the scene.

“He was just an old-school winger who could go inside and outside. He had this fantastic speed. James was unfortunate with injuries at one point as it was a little stop-start for him.

“He’s low-key and so modest, – he’s the perfect Celtic player in a sense. He works hard and listens to his coaches and managers, so you always know what you are going to get from him.

“It’s been great seeing him back and it is great seeing him back and with a chance of starting at Hampden again.”

With Daizen Maeda looking sharp and Luis Palma also looking dangerous against St Mirren on Saturday, Rodgers certainly does have a dilemma on his hands.

I personally feel the Celtic boss will go with Forrest and Maeda on the wings. The 32-year-old has been drafted in for high-pressured games and has not let Rodgers down.

And if picked against Rangers at Hampden on Saturday, I am sure Forrest can be a major factor in helping Celtic successfully defend the cup.
