Report: Chelsea in talks to sign 'incredible' teenage striker who scored 10 goals last season

Chelsea are in talks to sign an ‘incredible’ teenage striker who scored 10 goals last season, according to a recent report.

Todd Boehly is in the process of identifying a replacement for Mauricio Pochettino but notwithstanding that, transfer talks are continuing to take place.

Enzo Maresca has been heavily linked with a move to West London but Roberto De Zerbi has emerged as a late candidate following his Brighton and Hove Albion departure.

Whilst that process takes place, the club are in talks to sign a teenage striker.

Chelsea in talks to sign Hafiz Umar Ibrahim

According to BBC Sport journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Chelsea are in talks to sign Hafiz Umar Ibrahim, who has been on trial with the club.

Ibrahim netted 10 goals in six games for Nigerian club Ojudo City in a youth tournament in Italy, prompting The Blues to offer him a trial.

Raheem Sterling spoke with the ‘incredible’ striker on a video call and now it seems he’ll be playing alongside him in the near future after a successful trial.

The towering centre-forward, who turned 18 in December, could join Chelsea’s sister club Strasbourg on a loan deal.

Ibrahim has likened himself to Romelu Lukaku.

Chelsea continue to invest in youth

Evidently, despite a rocky season, Chelsea are continuing to place great emphasis on signing young players this summer window.

Though, surely, they’ll learn their lesson and look to add experienced players, too, as that was lacking in the side last term.

A telling summer awaits Chelsea and their new manager.
