Wimblington hit top spot after home victory over Cambridge Tamil Sangam

Wimblington hit top spot in the table after an 81-run home victory over Cambridge Tamil Sangam on Saturday.

The home side made it three wins from four in the CCA Junior League Four North with the comprehensive win.

After being asked to bat, Wimblington made 203-6 from their 40 overs before bowling out their visitors for 122 with three balls remaining.

In the same division, the match between Chatteris 2nd and Chippenham 2nd was cancelled.

In Division One, Wisbech Town enjoyed their first home win of the season and they did it in style, thrashing Eaton Socon by ten wickets.

After being asked to bat, the visitors were skittled out for 49 from 27.2 overs before Wisbech made 53-0 from 13.3 overs, leapfrogging their opponents to fifth in the table. Gary Freear scored 19 and Thomas Hoyle 31.

March Town enjoyed a four-wicket home win against Stamford Town, New Zealand overseas player Josh Fisher once again the hero.

After electing to bat, the visitors scored 201-5 from their 50 overs, before March scored 203-6 from 45.4 overs, Fisher scoring 85 from 102 balls, with seven fours and a six. The win leaves March in sixth place.

In Senior League Division One, league leaders Wisbech Town 2nd won by seven wickets at Horseheath. After electing to bat the home side were 111 all out from 27.4 overs, with the visitors reaching 113-3 from 24 overs.

Chatteris won by 96 runs at Cambourne 2nd in senior Two, scoring 200 all out from 44.5 overs after being asked to bat. In reply, the home side were 104 all out from 31.3 overs. That first win of the season takes Chatteris up to seventh.

March Town 2nd conceded their match at Chippenham in Senior Three, while in Three North, Wisbech Town 3rd lost at home to Little Downham by nine wickets. Batting first, Wisbech were 61 all out from 32 overs, Tom Freear the top scorer with 18 and Mark Buttriss making 12.

In reply, the visitors were 62-1 off 15.4 overs, Henry Gowler taking 1-12 off four overs.

March Town 3rd conceded their game at Burwell & Exning 4th in Five North while Wisbech Town 4th lost by four wickets at Milton 3rd.

After deciding to bat, the visitors were 75 all out from 20.4 overs, captain Martin Woollard top scoring with 16, opener Oliver Murdoch getting 14 and Richard Cable 12. In reply, the home side made 76-6 from 22 overs, Cable taking 2-24 from eight, and a wicket each for Chris Middleton and Jay Modhvadia.
