‘That’s ever lived’: Theo Walcott says player who left Arsenal for free is one of the most gifted footballers ever

Theo Walcott has claimed one of his former Arsenal teammates is one of the most ‘gifted’ players of all time.

Arsenal have had their fair share of talented stars over the years and Theo Walcott lined up alongside many of them during his time at the Emirates Stadium.

The former Arsenal star had the pleasure of playing alongside the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Cesc Fabregas and Thierry Henry, just to name a few.

Now, Walcott has selected his dream Arsenal five-a-side team and had huge praise for one of his former teammates.

Walcott makes claim about Santi Cazorla

Arsenal fans certainly won’t be surprised to see Santi Cazorla named in Walcott’s five-a-side team.

Since leaving the Emirates on a free transfer back in 2018, the Spaniard has received his fair share of praise from former teammates.

Now, ahead of this year’s Soccer Aid, Walcott has claimed Cazorla is one of the most gifted football players of all time.

“Santi Cazorla, both-footed,” he said. “I remember he used to take corners with both feet. It didn’t really matter to him. So technically, he’s one of the best-gifted players that’s ever lived.”

What former Arsenal players have said about Cazorla

Walcott certainly isn’t the first former Arsenal star to laud Cazorla, with the likes of Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey recently praising the Spanish playmaker.

Wilshere claimed Cazorla was ‘unbelievable’ in a recent interview with Simon Jordan. Ramsey also selected Cazorla in his dream five-a-side team, claiming his former teammate just ‘oozed class’.

While Cazorla isn’t underrated by his former peers, you can’t help but feel he didn’t quite get the credit he deserved during his best years in north London.

Cazorla is still going strong in Spain as he’s currently playing for Real Oviedo in the Spanish second tier. At 39, he registered four assists in 23 league appearances last season.
