Report: Man United now hold talks with ‘high-pressing’ manager’s agents as they weigh up Erik ten Hag’s future

Manchester United have held talks with a Premier League manager’s agents as they prepare to make a decision on Erik ten Hag’s future.

Despite delivering a memorable FA Cup victory at the expense of Manchester City on Saturday, Erik ten Hag could head out the door at Old Trafford soon.

The Dutchman has delivered two trophies in his two years at Manchester United. But after a poor season in the Premier League that led to an eighth-place finish, the Red Devils are weighing up their options.

Now, The Telegraph claims that United have held talks with two potential candidates to replace Ten Hag.

Man United hold Thomas Frank talks

The outlet claims that United have held talks with both Brentford boss Thomas Frank and former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino’s agents.

It comes as the Red Devils explore their options to replace Ten Hag, with a decision on the future of the Dutchman set to be decided this week with an end-of-season review.

It’s claimed that United have since met with representatives from Frank’s camp, as well as Pochettino’s.

Frank’s ‘high-pressing’ style at Brentford

Regardless of who ends up in the dugout next season, United fans will be eager to see a clear identity on the football pitch.

That is one criticism that has been regularly aimed at Ten Hag this season, with many unsure exactly what kind of side United are at the moment.

Frank has certainly implemented a clear style of play at Brentford and previously impressed Liverpool chiefs with his ‘high-pressing’ style.

Pochettino has also established a clear brand of football at his previous clubs, particularly at Tottenham and Southampton.

Frank is an appointment that would likely be met with some intrigue amongst United fans as the Dane has done a brilliant job at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The Bees have avoided the drop three seasons running now and Frank is also on Chelsea’s shortlist to replace Pochettino.
