Premier League star now put up for sale, after transfer links to Inter Miami - journalist

A Premier League star has now reportedly been put up for sale ahead of the summer transfer window after rumored links to Inter Miami.

The Herons are set for a busy few weeks with key players departing for the Copa America coupled with the opening of the transfer window, where Inter Miami are expected to make important signings.

Injury to Nicolas Freire has left the Florida franchise lacking in depth in the center-back position with a signing or two expected to help bolster out the squad heading into the second-half of the season.

And a big name from the Premier League could now be available to sign.

Aston Villa to sell Inter Miami-linked Philippe Coutinho this summer

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, Aston Villa have decided to let Brazilian international Philippe Coutinho leave this summer, with the playmaker available for as little as £6m ($7.5m).

With Inter Miami linked with Coutinho earlier in the year, there’s a chance that the MLS side could reignite their interest to sign the former Liverpool superstar.

Indeed, Coutinho could fit the high-profile signing model Inter Miami have been following in the last 12 months given the forward’s FC Barcelona background and South American upbringing.

And with Villa putting Coutinho up for sale, there’s a chance that Inter Miami could move in for the 31-year-old, who could be tempted by the idea of moving to Florida this summer.

Inter Miami would be wise to pass up on Coutinho this summer

Coutinho is no doubt a player who could thrive in MLS having spent the last 18 months struggling to back to his best, with Inter Miami an obvious destination for the Villa winger.

However, given what the Herons actually need this summer, the Florida side would be wise to pass up the option to sign Coutinho given how glaring the problems at center-back are.

Whilst Coutinho would be another huge name to add to Inter Miami’s growing list of stars, the transfer will do little to actually help the MLS franchise in their bid to silverware, given who is already in the squad.
