March golfer Nickie Barwell secures place in the ‘Race to Woodhall Spa’

March golfer Nickie Barwell has secured her place in the ‘Race to Woodhall Spa’.

Barwell achieved her place in the regional final at Stoke Rochford following the success over the previous 12 months with the lowest aggregate of nett differential scores in club competitions.

The regional final had 60 participants and Barwell won through with 35 stableford points. The final will take place in August on the Hotchkin course.

She started her golf journey at March after she joined during an open day at the club and got bitten by the golf bug. Barwell’s handicap has come down to an impressive 35 in a very short time.

She said: “After attending the open event at March, I got completely hooked on golf. It’s a great opportunity for outdoor exercise and to have fun with new friends.

“I have put a lot of effort into getting my handicap down and I am so excited to be going to the home of England Golf to play the world famous Hotchkin course.”
