Tottenham have £55m striker dubbed as the next Erling Haaland on their radar to replace Richarlison

Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs who have one of Europe’s most in-demand strikers on their radars this summer.

The summer transfer window is going to provide Ange Postecoglou with an opportunity to address some of the areas which may have concerned him in his first campaign at Tottenham.

One of those areas is at striker with the Australian already admitting that he is looking to bolster his front line over the coming weeks.

“We’re in Europe as well next year so we’ll have more games and it’s definitely an area of the park we’ll need to strengthen,” Postecoglou said recently in Australia.

Losing Harry Kane over the summer was always going to provide Daniel Levy with a mammoth task of finding a replacement.

Going into the summer, Spurs have already been linked with a host of strikers with the likes of Ivan Toney linked heavily with a switch across London.

There is now a new name believed to be on the radar at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a number of Europe’s top clubs also eyeing a potential move.

Tottenham eyeing striker dubbed as the next Erling Haaland

A new out and out striker feels like a signing which Spurs have to make this season with Richarlison struggling through injury so heavily this season.

It has to be said, when fit, Richarlison’s form for Spurs in the second half of the campaign was that of a capable striker.

Nine goals in a 10-game stretch was certainly more than good enough for the Brazilian to impress the fans.

However, after losing Kane, Postecoglou needs a striker who he can rely on to find the back of the net over the entire stretch of the campaign.

According to AS, Tottenham are one of the clubs who have RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko on their radar this summer.

The likes of Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked with the Premier League clubs said to be ‘crazy’ about signing Sesko over the coming months.

Any move for Sesko is not going to be made easy by Leipzig, though. The Bundesliga side will be looking to cash in on the Slovenian if they are to accept his future being away from the Red Bull Arena.

After all, this is a player who has been tipped to become the next Erling Haaland having followed a similar path to the Manchester City striker.

Benjamin Sesko may still have a lot to prove to earn top move

Sesko enjoyed a stunning end to the campaign in the Bundesliga where he netted in all of his final seven games.

The Slovenian ended the season on 14 goals from 31 appearances (17 starts) in the league but there is still a lot the 20-year-old may have to show to be considered a reliable striker.

The second half of the season for Sesko was seriously impressive as he netted 11 goals in his final 16 Bundesliga games. However, the same could not be said about the first half of the campaign.

This shows Spurs may still be investing in a player for the future if they were to bring Sesko in.

He’s clearly a player who has a lot of potential and showed that in the second half of the campaign, but at a reported £55m release clause it may be seen as a big risk to take.
