Report: 'Special' player now in line to be Maresca's first Chelsea signing; Blues board are huge fans

Chelsea are close appointing Enzo Maresca as their new manager and could soon follow it up with a first new signing as well.

The Blues have moved quickly over the weekend to make a move for Maresca after ruling out the likes of Kieran McKenna and Roberto De Zerbi in their search for a new manager.

Maresca comes in with high expectations having just led Leicester to promotion and will be hoping to be given the time to get things right at Stamford Bridge.

According to reports, Maresca is just minor details away from full agreeing to take over at Chelsea.

And according to a report from iNews, the Chelsea board could now look at signing Tosin Adarabioyo as Maresca’s first signing.

Chelsea considering Tosin Adarabioyo as they look to beat Newcastle to signing

According to the report from iNews, Chelsea are considering a late move for Adarabioyo as they look to hijack a move from Newcastle for the Fulham man.

Adarabioyo is out of contract at Craven Cottage and has a host of top clubs looking to sign him.

Newcastle are believed to be at the front of the queue but according to this report, Adarabioyo is highly-rated by the Chelsea team.

With that, the Blues are now considering a move to bring Adarabioyo to the Bridge as they look to give Maresca the best squad possible.

As well as Newcastle and Chelsea, Manchester United are also keen on the defender.

Lauded as a ‘special‘ defensive talent, Adarabioyo has shone while at Fulham and now seems to have a big choice to make over his future.

Adarabioyo will be pinching himself

The former Manchester City youngster has done well at Fulham and deserves his chance elsewhere but even he will be looking at his options and counting his lucky starts.

With Newcastle, Chelsea and Man United all keen, Adarabioyo has the chance at moving to a big club regardless and two of those clubs will give him European football.

After not making the grade at City, he’s now shown he can more than succeed at Premier League level and he’s now going to get his chance at a higher level.

Quite whether Enzo Maresca actually wants Adarabioyo remains to be seen, But this is the way Chelsea work and the new boss will simply have to get used to it.
