Cristian Romero and Son Heung-min believe something ‘unbelievable’ just happened to £39m Tottenham teammate

Tottenham Hotspur stars Cristian Romero and Son Heung-min have now shared their reaction to news that has emerged from the club on Monday.

Right now, having just concluded their season in Australia, Ange Postecoglou and his team will probably be trying their best to enjoy a short break.

Postecoglou’s first season in north London should be considered a success, even if the club’s Champions League pursuit ended with a whimper.

But given the scale of the task Spurs’ new manager faced, in the dreaded first season without Harry Kane, Postecoglou made remarkable progress.

Now, Daniel Levy will need to work relentlessly with his team in order to match their manager’s ambition over the summer, delivering signings to progress his project.

Tottenham will surely hope to have a number of new faces in place for pre-season, and will hope to have also moved some players on.

That being said, it was today revealed that Pedro Porro’s pre-season wouldn’t be disrupted as imagined, given he failed to make Spain’s squad for the Euros.

Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal and Sevilla’s Jesus Navas were seemingly preferred, meaning Porro will stay at home.

Cristian Romero and Son Heung-min both offer support to Pedro Porro after Spain snub

Having been left out of Spain manager Luis de la Fuente’s plans, Pedro Porro took to Instagram to share his disappointment with fans, but also sent his support to his national team nonetheless.

Porro said: “I was very excited about the possibility of being able to represent my country in the Euros, but in the end it won’t be possible this year.

“Respect and admiration for all of the players who will be defending our colours. From here I will be supporting the team hoping we have great joy. Come on guys.”

Both Romero and Son replied to the post, with Romero initially saying: “Let’s go brother. Unbelievable.”

Captain Son then simply said: ‘You are the best’, with some accompanying emojis.

A difficult decision for Porro to take, but one he’s evidently accepted with grace.

Perhaps the Spain manager decided that Porro’s attacking pursuits at Tottenham weren’t suited to his team right now, preferring the two more experienced and traditional options mentioned above.

All that being said, Southampton’s promotion to the Premier League on Sunday may also be bad news for Tottenham for two key reasons.
