Three-star offensive tackle Jayden Clark will make a couple of trips to Lexington in the coming weeks. Up first, he’ll camp at Kentucky’s “Sunday Showcase” on June 2 where Wildcats’ offensive line coach Eric Wolford will get a first-hand view of the Ohio native.
It was Kentucky associate head coach Vince Marrow who offered Clark back in January. Now, Wolford wants to work with the rising high school senior.
“He’s talked about my potential as a player,” Clark, ranked No. 869 overall in the 2025 class by the On3 Industry Ranking, told KSR on Monday about his conversations with Wolford. “I got a lot of opportunity taken away from me after the injury… I’ve been sending him and other coaches some of my videos from my training and they’re liking what they see. (Wolford) gave me the offer because of that. He wants to get me to this camp to work me out so he can see what he placed his bet on.”
Clark, who suits up for Northmont (OH) High School, returned to action over a month ago after tearing his ACL last summer. He’s eager to showcase his skills in front of Wolford and more. Clark has also scheduled a camp visit with Ohio State on June 5. The Buckeyes have yet to officially offer, but if all goes well at his camp and a scholarship does come in, his recruitment could take a turn.
“Prior to my injury last year, I was supposed to go there to get evaluated with Coach (Justin) Frye and Coach Mike (Sollenne) over there (at Ohio State), but unfortunately I couldn’t do that last year because of the injury,” Clark said. “So this year, it’s kinda my second chance in a sense to get evaluated and try and get that offer.”
As of right now, Kentucky and Ohio State are the only camp visits he has on the calendar. After that, he’ll adventure onto a trio of official visits: Cincinnati (June 7), Kentucky (June 14), and Indiana (June 21). Depending on what happens with Ohio State, the Buckeyes could sneak its way onto the schedule. West Virginia is also in the mix for a possible official visit.
These are the five schools he’s in the most talks with. A commitment could come in August, he says.
In particular, Kentucky stands out because of how both Wolford and Marrow are recruiting him. Clark likes that it’s not a graduate assistant reaching out, but instead the position coach and the staff’s top recruiter. The Wildcats are also recruiting Clark’s teammate at Northmont, four-star EDGE Cedric Works, who will officially visit UK a week after Clark.
“We both like Kentucky, for sure,” Clark added.
Now clocking in at 6-foot-4, 300 pounds, Clark says Wolford is intrigued with his potential. Clark is already skilled at pass blocking, but he wants to show off his improved run blocking to Wolford, as well. The two will have plenty of time to get connected during the Sunday Showcase camp and the official visit a couple of weeks later.
