Agent of ‘important’ Tottenham player has now held meeting in Italy over possible deal with AC Milan

One of Tottenham Hotspur’s potential summer departures has seen his time away from north London take a step closer this week.

Ange Postecoglou has promised there will be players leaving the club over the coming months with change needed at Tottenham.

The Australian’s first season at Hotspur Way has provided him with an opportunity to assess some of the players which he inherited last summer.

Clearly, there are a number of players who have not made the cut for Postecoglou with the likes of Eric Dier having already departed the club.

And this summer will see more of that with a host of players potentially set for the exit as Spurs have reportedly drawn up a 15-man shortlist of potential departures.

One of the players on that list may well be edging closer to signing for a new club after his agent was spotted in Italy on Monday to discuss a potential move.

Tottenham player’s camp now in talks over AC Milan move

The Italian top flight has been a market which Tottenham have exploited over recent years in signing some of their best players.

Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario are just some of the names who have made the move over from Italy recently.

One player who has been linked with a potential move to AC Milan is midfielder Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg, however, it seems another could also be on his way.

Emerson Royal is another player who could face Postecoglou’s revolving door this summer having failed to make a major impression this season – despite being hailed “unbelievable” in training.

According to Italian journalist Luca Bendoni, Emerson’s agent Stefano Castagna held a meeting in Italy with AC Milan on Monday.

It is believed the meeting that took place was to discuss the conditions which would be needed to see Emerson make the move to the Italian giants.

Although it is said nothing is close at this stage, it is a positive sign that work is underway in seeing some Spurs players find new clubs this summer.

Tottenham need to find a replacement for Emerson Royal

Although getting some of the current squad off the books is the right move for Postecoglou to advance this squad, some cases are going to need new players to replace them.

And Emerson’s potential exit is certainly one of them. Pedro Porro‘s injury record has been pretty good since he landed in north London but rotation is going to be key next season.

With Europa League football and an expectation for Spurs to perform better in both domestic cups, Postecoglou is going to need a squad filled with quality.

The Spurs News understands there is an interest in potentially bringing Kyle Walker-Peters back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

However, Southampton’s play-off final triumph may have caused those plans to be scrapped over the weekend.

Regardless, if Emerson is to leave, Spurs need to find a quality backup option to Porro who does not hinder the team’s attacking style when he comes into the side.
