Roberto Firmino shows off brand new hairstyle never before seen at Liverpool

It has been a difficult first year away from Liverpool for Roberto Firmino.

After eight years with the Reds, it was never going to be straightforward for Firmino to adjust. He’d become part of the furniture at Anfield.

Following on from an injury-hit final season under Jurgen Klopp, the pleasing thing for the Brazilian will be that he managed to stay fit.

However, things didn’t go super-well for Firmino on the pitch. Having gone through a stretch of more than six months without scoring for new club Al Ahli, there were rumours he could be sold as early as January.

In the end, the Liverpool legend stayed and rediscovered some form towards the end of the campaign. And having signed off for the year with a goal in Monday’s final game of the season, maybe Firmino can put it down to an interesting new hairstyle.

Roberto Firmino shows off new look

Although they had a good season without him, Liverpool did miss Firmino this year. As Klopp said recently, the forward is a player you can really build a great team around.

Without his tenacity in attacks and nose for bringing others into the game, the Reds had no one to do the job he did so well.

Liverpool’s loss has not really been Al Ahli’s gain, though. And Firmino’s struggles in Saudi Arabia make you wonder whether everyone would have been better off with Bobby staying at Anfield.

Nevertheless, there’s no going back now. It remains to be seen whether Firmino will stick it out in Jeddah for another season, but he ended this one brightly, scoring the winner as his team beat Al Fayah 1-0.

After the game, Al Ahli took to social media to share a photo of Bobby celebrating his winning goal. Showing the Brazil international during the first game of the season in August, and the final one on Monday, the contrast in hairstyle is stark.

Firmino follows Mohamed Salah’s lead

We’re just waiting to see what Sadio Mane has in store for us now. Firmino’s drastic change of hair comes after Mohamed Salah rocked a new look last week.

Granted, Bobby’s is not quite as eye-catching. Salah appears to have shaved off his iconic afro in a move which will have fans shaking their heads.

For Firmino, his curls were never quite as distinctive as his Egyptian teammate, but they were recognisable all the same.

Let’s wait and see how long this new style lasts, while we wait to see the full extent of Salah’s trim.
