The Met Office has issued a weather warning for Newark and the surrounding area, predicting heavy thunderstorms and showers on Tuesday afternoon.

Some communities could become isolated by flooded roads, and there is a slight chance of power cuts affecting homes and businesses.
The Met Office also cautions about the risk of fast-flowing or deep floodwater, which could endanger lives.
Driving during thunderstorms should be avoided if possible. If you must drive, slow down, use main roads, and maintain a larger gap between vehicles.
