'I think there's scope there': Journalist says Man City could actually sell £300k-a-week star in the summer

Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Manchester City could sell one player in the summer.

The mark of a top club is that most of their players rarely ever demand an exit and Manchester City fit that description.

The same observation can be made about Real Madrid and Bayern Munich over the past decade.

Journalist: One player could leave Manchester City in the summer

Michael Brown feels one player Manchester City could sell in the summer is Jack Grealish.

Interestingly enough, Dean Jones made the same claim about Jack Grealish and his future at City on the Ranks FC podcast.

Jones said: “Jack Grealish, I would say keep eyes on. Jack won’t want to leave Man City but he didn’t play in that FA Cup final. I think there’s scope there for something to happen.”

Recently, Tony Cascarino advised Jack Grealish to leave Manchester City and aim to become a regular starter elsewhere.

But last Thursday, Fabrizio Romano claimed that City are not looking to offload Grealish and their priority in the transfer window is not to sign a winger in any case.

If Doku elevates his game for City next season, Grealish should be worried

In our view, even if Manchester City do not sell Jack Grealish, he should be worried if Jeremy Doku steps his game up next season.

For the time being, Pep Guardiola seems to view the Belgian as a left-winger and if he further improves, the youngster could take the £300,000-a-week man’s spot in the team once again.

Doku is an outstanding talent with a very high ceiling while one could fairly claim that Grealish’s game has not particularly improved this campaign.

The better Jeremy Doku becomes as a winger, the less likely it is for Jack Grealish to get regular minutes at Manchester City moving forward.

Unless Grealish finds a way to become a better player and forces Guardiola to deploy Doku on the opposite flank.

Either way, the Englishman should consider the threat of the former Rennes winger permanently ousting him out of the City team seriously.
