Cristiano Ronaldo sends message to Manchester United after major achievement

Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo is a player you cannot keep down. The Portuguese legend refuses to stop scoring.

Cristiano Ronaldo is enjoying a career like no other. The prolific goalscorer keeps on finding the back of the net, even at the age of 39.

Ronaldo is the record goalscorer at international level and in the Champions League. He is adding another record to the list too.

He is now the first player to finish as top scorer in a single season in four different countries. He celebrated his latest feat with a memorable quote: ‘I don’t follow the records, the records follow me.”

Cristiano Ronaldo thanks Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo has now taken a slightly more humble approach as he digests the magnitude of his achievement.

Ronaldo has scored 35 league goals for Al-Nassr this season, beating the previous record of 34.

While this was probably inevitable for Ronaldo, it still commands respect, considering his age, and the way he was drifting out of form during his last few unhappy months at Manchester United.

Ronaldo reached out on Instagram, writing: “Proud to make history as the first top scorer in 4 countries 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇪🇸 🇮🇹 🇸🇦. A huge thank you to all the clubs, teammates and staff who helped me along the way.”

He added: “🙏 @manchesterunited, @realmadrid, @juventus and @alnassr.”

Cristiano Ronaldo closing in on 900 career goals

Cristiano Ronaldo is closing in on his next career milestone for club and country. He has scored 893 career goals, nearing the big 900 figure.

You would not bet against Ronaldo playing on to reach the full 1,000. That is a huge ask, but who would have expected he would ever score close to 900?

Ronaldo is 14th onManchester United’s all time top goalscorer list with 145 goals to his name.

That is a big regret, that he did not play on for longer at Old Trafford during his career, enjoying his peak years in Spain at Real Madrid.

Ronaldo’s best year for Unitedsaw him net 42 goals, while he one struck 61 times in a single season at Real.

In all competitions for Al-Nassr this season he has 44 goals in 44 games. While it is a comparatively weaker league, the Saudi Pro League has strengthened since he signed for the club, with many big name players and top internationals signing for clubs in the country.
