Conservative MP for Sherwood on the campaign trail in Thurgaton and Hoveringham

Sherwood’s Conservative MP has been out an about in the community on the campaign trail as he bids to keep hold of his seat in July 4’s General Election.

Mark Spencer was out in Hoveringham and Thurgarton today (May 28) talking to residents. On his Facebook page, he posted a video saying that it is “just great to get out into the villagers and say hello”.

Mr Spencer has been the MP for Sherwood for the last 14 years. He said: “I have delivered tens of millions of pounds of investment for our community and helped thousands of people who have been in contact with me.”

The MP also made time to visit the Wellow Maypole Celebrations.

He said: “I have had a fantastic afternoon in Wellow at the annual Maypole Day celebration.

“This event has been going over a hundred years, and Wellow has one of the last traditional maypoles left in the UK.

“Come on down or visit another day if you have a chance. There are lots of great walks around the area and some great pubs to refresh at as well.”
