Eden Hazard says £225k-a-week Man City star is even better than Jude Bellingham

Eden Hazard has suggested that Manchester City have someone in their squad who is better than Jude Bellingham.

The midfielder has had a stunning debut season at Real Madrid since joining the Spanish club from Borussia Dortmund last summer in a deal worth £88.5m.

Having won La Liga, Bellingham and the rest of his Real teammates could also lift the Champions League this weekend by beating the midfielder’s former side at Wembley Stadium.

Despite that, one former Premier League star, who also spent some time at Real, has claimed that City have someone who has eclipsed Bellingham this season.

In a recent video shared on the talkSPORT TikTok channel, Hazard was asked who he feels the best player from England is right now.

In response, the former winger said Phil Foden instead of Bellingham or other big-name English players such as Harry Kane among many others.

Both midfielders racked up 19 goals each across their individual league campaigns, with Foden providing eight assists and Bellingham delivering six.

Foden vs Bellingham

Even though the £225k-a-week City star played over 500 more minutes in the Premier League this season than Bellingham did in La Liga, the 24-year-old ended the campaign with a higher rate of shots-on-goal per 90 minutes (3.31 vs 2.41) and shot-creating actions per 90 minutes (4.54 vs 3.85) than his England teammate.

After helping his side win their fourth Premier League title in a row, Foden was named the Premier League Player of the Season, beating the likes of Ollie Watkins, Cole Palmer and Declan Rice among others.

While both players have undoubtedly had impressive individual seasons with their respective clubs, it may surprise some non-City supporters that the former Chelsea and former Real winger said that Foden is better than Bellingham.
