Didier Drogba sends message to Manchester United star after FA Cup win

Manchester United’s players are still taking in the achievement of winning the 2024 FA Cup.

The Red Devils won the trophy for a 13th time, and just the second time since 2004. Manchester United’s record inFA Cup finals has been underwhelming during this period.

While the team won the FA Cup in 2016, the team suffered defeats in finals in 2005, 2007, 2018 and 2023.

The player who struck the winner in the 2007 final was Didier Drogba for Chelsea. And the former Blues striker reached out to congratulate one Manchester United player on the team’s 2024 success.

Amad message to Manchester United fans

Amad was unfortunate not to feature during the FA Cup Final, an unused substitute at Wembley.

However, he played a major part in helping the team get there, scoring a sensational winner against Liverpool in the quarter-finals at Old Trafford.

Amad started the past three Premier League games to close the season out, demonstrating his quality with his performances, and many felt he should have started against City.

The former Atalanta winger is proud of his contribution, writing a message to fans on Instagram, reflecting on how he has come through a tough injury hit season, and enhanced his reputation.

He wrote: “I went through a lot of difficult times in my life but I never gave up.

“I want to take this moment to say thank you to the supporters you have always believed in this team.

“What a way to finish the season, a dream come true winning the FA Cup. Thanks for all the support this season!! see you soon.”

Drogba praises Amad

The Ivory Coast winger received a message from his countryman, national icon Didier Drogba.

The former Chelsea striker wrote a message in response, in reference to his winners’ medal: “First of many for you.”

We certainly hope Drogba is right. Amad’s success will be Manchester United’s success. He is a player who there will be really high hopes for next season.

Manchester United winning the FA Cup can act as a platform for the club. Amad may be hoping Erik ten Hag stays on, having finally won the manager over.
