Rasmus Hojlund takes brilliant dig at the Gallagher brothers after Manchester United beat City in the FA Cup Final

Lap up the win. Gloat. Make the most of it. Manchester United are celebrating a well earned trophy win after an arduous 2023/24 campaign.

It’s been a difficult season for all concerned with Manchester United. So spare a thought for striker Rasmus Hojlund, whose first ever season at Old Trafford, has been this one.

It felt like Hojlund was set up to fail, asked to be the lone striker, and there were difficult spells. He came through it well, scoring 16 goals in total, a solid platform from which to build next season.

Best of all, he has ended 2023/24 as aFA Cup winner, after Manchester United defeated City in the final at Wembley.

Rasmus Hojlund living his dream

Rasmus Hojlund grew up as a Manchester United supporter, and the Dane is living his best life after helping the Red Devils win a trophy at Wembley.

His 16 goals are placed into further context in the respect that he is the team’s top scorer for 2023/24.

Hojlund began on the bench for the Cup Final, before coming on and playing his part, winning the late free-kick which helped United kill off the game in stoppage time.

His first message after Manchester United’s win referred to how far he has come, posting an image with the FA Cup trophy, which read: “A boy with a Dream.”

There was more to come from a joyous Rasmus Hojlund, who was clearly having fun on the famous Wembley turf at full-time.

Hojlund posted a picture with fellow United youngsters Amad, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, who have all played crucial roles during the cup run, with two of them scoring in the final.

The Dane posted: “Since Manchester is red, this is the new wonderwall.”

In case it needs explaining, Hojlund’s message referred to the famous Wonderwall song by Oasis, performed by City fans Noel and Liam Gallagher.

The striker’s message will have capped a miserable day for City supporters, whose team came into the game as favourites, and were clearly second best, with Pep Guardiola the one man at Wembley whofelt they should have won.
