Arsenal ready to extend ‘unbelievable’ Hale Ender's contract ahead of key summer decision

Arsenal are reportedly ready to extend a Hale End prospect’s contract ahead of what could be a key summer decision for the Gunners.

The north London side have made it a good habit of late of extending player’s contracts before they become too late to renew, with Arsenal losing some big players over the years due to failing to act early enough.

Whilst this summer will see Mohamed Elneny and Cedric Soares leave at the end of their deals, Arsenal have put themselves in a position where only players with no real future at the club will be allowed to see their contracts expire.

And the Gunners are now ready to extend one Hale End youngster’s contract due to such a situation.

Arsenal looking to extend Mika Biereth’s contract ahead of possible loan move

According to the Sheffield Star, Arsenal are looking to extend Mika Biereth’s contract as the Gunners prepare to loan out the Danish youth international for another season.

Championship side Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing Biereth for the season, with the 21-year-old just coming off a year that saw the Hale End striker win the Austrian Bundesliga for Sturm Graz.

Once hailed by former Arsenal recruitment official Yousuf Sajjad as ‘unbelievable’, there’s no questioning Biereth’s talents, with the striker bagging 15 goals and nine assists in all competitions this season.

Yet given where Biereth is in his career and what Arsenal are looking to do this summer, a permanent sale this off-season might be for the best for all parties, especially with interest now high in the attacker.

Biereth should be pushing to leave north London permanently this summer

With such an impressive record last year for both Sturm Graz and Scottish Premiership side Motherwell, it’s clear that Biereth is ready for the next step in his young and exciting career.

And whilst extending his contract with Arsenal could work out in the long-term, there’s no guarantee that Biereth will become a regular for the Gunners with Mikel Arteta looking to sign a striker this summer.

As a result, Biereth would be better off pushing to leave north London for good this summer, with the attacker a prospect who will be of interest to many top sides across Europe.
