DESTIN, Fla. — Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian was available in Destin, Fla. at the Southeastern Conference Spring Meetings and fielded questions on a variety of topics from members of the local media and others from national outlets.

Life is different for Texas in the SEC and these Spring Meetings are Sarkisian’s first chance to get to sit down and talk with fellow head coaches about some of the issues in front of the sport. Topics such as roster size in the wake of NCAA litigation, availability reports with the proliferation of legalized gambling, and other nationally-focused topics were touched on.
So too were concepts like Sarkisian’s ability to communicate with quarterbacks via a one-way radio, the weirdness of not seeing his mentor Nick Saban in the room with him in these meetings, and what Texas was able to accomplish in the transfer portal.
Sarkisian speaks for about 14 minutes and holds his own in front of the gathered media covering the country’s top league.
