LAKELAND, Fla. \- A video of an incident that happened on Monday at a Lakeland apartment complex is going viral on social media.

The video shows Lakeland Police officers and a 16-year-old in a confrontation that ends in punches and the minor being tased.

According to the arrest affidavit, officers responded to Caroline Apartments on Griffin Road on Sunday at 5:52 p.m.

The caller informed Lakeland Police Dispatchers that several people who did not reside within the apartment complex were in the pool.

"One of the males, who was later identified as Jahmal Hudson, was not willing to provide me with a valid apartment number within the complex. I contacted Rebecca, who is the apartment complex manager and she requested that all people who do not reside within the complex be trespassed. I attempted to get Hudson to identify himself but he refused. I informed Hudson that I was verbally trespassing him from the complex," the report stated.

After a short time, Hudson exited the pool to gather his belongings, police say.

The officer said he gave Hudson several orders to exit the property, or he would be arrested.

According to police, Hudson ignored the verbal command and "stuck his hand" in the officer's face while saying, "I don't have to talk to you."

"I decided at this time to take Hudson into custody for trespassing. I attempted to grab Hudson by his right arm, but he immediately tensed his body and attempted to pull away from my grasp. I informed Hudson he was under arrest and to stop resisting. I was able to maintain control of Hudson as I guided him toward a wall. Hudson began to flail his arms towards Officer Diaz and I, almost striking us in our facial area several times. Hudson struck me in my facial area one time with his closed fist," said the affidavit.

Hudson was transported to Lakeland Regoian Hospital and, following treatment, to the Junevile Assessment Center.

His charges are one count of trespassing, one count of battery on a law enforcement officer, and one count of resisting.

"What is happening here? Two police officers were involved in a physical altercation with a reported 16-year-old. We need more details from police on this encounter," said Attorney Ben Crump On X.

"This incident did involve officers with our agency. Chief of Police Sam Taylor, has been informed of the incident and has already requested an administrative review by our Office of Professional Standards," said Lakeland Police PIO.
