‘Believe me’: Alan Myers confirms what will definitely happen in Everton’s takeover saga after Textor update

All Everton fans want at this point is a little stability at the top of their club.

It really is not that much to ask for.

After all, were they to attain that, the benefits it would then send down throughout the infrastructure would be endless, provided whoever usurps Farhad Moshiri can make more sensible decisions.

Just a week ago, it still seemed like 777 Partners were the only firm still in the running to purchase the Toffees.

However, since then, Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor has been trying to buy Everton from seemingly nowhere after announcing his intentions to depart south London and find a more suitable Premier League outfit.

So, whilst we are no closer to a conclusion, it does feel like things at Everton are moving in the right direction.

Alan Myers offers Everton takeover update

And, taking to X, Sky Sports reporter Alan Myers was on hand to offer fans further cause for excitement regarding this takeover too.

Throughout the nine-month period where 777 Partners desperately scrambled to rise into power, fears escalated that no other parties were emerging.

Naturally, the Toffees are not quite the attractive prospect they once were, but with Moshiri clearly willing to sell at a huge loss, there was surprise that more had not emerged as rivals.

We have since learned that the Miami-based firm’s exclusivity clause has been the main reason behind this prohibition, and that is finally due to expire at the end of this Friday.

Myers, therefore, following up on his Textor update in which he claimed the American is ‘stepping up’ his interest, the journalist then replied to one fan who questioned whether other interested owners might follow suit and outline their interest.

He simply claimed: ‘Believe me, there will be much interest.’

Who is John Textor?

Born in Missouri, USA, the 58-year-old showcased his keen passion for sport in his skateboarding.

Set to have been a fine freestyler, a head injury pushed him out of the endeavour he loved and into education and technology, where he would learn the tools needed to make his fortune.

Now worth an estimated £3.37 billion (via netwealth.biz), he has enjoyed high-ranking roles with Sims Snowboards, FuboTV and eToys amongst other business ventures.

Clearly a very successful man, he first waded into football in 2021 with Crystal Palace before extending his influence into Brazil, with Botafogo the following year.

2023 then saw him become the owner of Lyon too, cementing his multi-club football model.

Now, he could be set to swap out the Eagles for the Toffees, and further bolster his arsenal of clubs.
