Bruno Fernandes sends message to Man Utd star he says will ‘be back’, he’s not played for months

Manchester United team spirit is at a high with the club clinching a memorable 2-1 win over rivals City in the FA Cup Final.

Manchester United players showed what they were capable of at Wembley with a glorious FA Cup Final win to leave Pep Guardiola seething.

AsErik ten Hag pointed out after the win, Manchester United managed to win the game with three ‘massive’ players missing.

One of these was England international left-backLuke Shaw, who has not played a game since the away win over Luton Town back in early February. It’s been months since we saw him in action.

Luke Shaw was in attendance at Wembley to see his Manchester United teammates lift the FA Cup and make up for last season’s lost to City.

This is an anxious time for Shaw, who is currently battling to try and be fit for Euro 2024 after being named in the provisional squad.

Shaw sent out a message on Instagram 48 hours after the final win over City, addressing some of the moans he has heard, relating to how he isn’t fit for United, but might be for England.

Hitting out, Shaw says he has given everything to try and be fit for the end of United’s season, but it has not gone his way.

Part of his message included: “This has definitely been the most frustrating season for me, I have had set back after set back and have worked so hard to get back to fitness but things just haven’t gone my way. I pushed so hard to get back before the end of the season and the final but some things just aren’t meant to be.

“There’s nothing I want to do more than play and win with @manchesterunited I don’t normally react to things I see on social media but there’s a lot of people questioning my loyalty to this club and asking how I am fit for England but not United.

“The reality is I am not 100% fit for either right now but I am doing everything I can and constantly working to be. I have been at this club for 10 years through highs and lows and for anyone to question my loyalty is obviously frustrating.”

Shaw received a supportive comment from one Manchester United teammate, club captain Bruno Fernandes, who expressed his excitement to see him soon back in action.

Fernandes wrote: “Shawberto will be back,” referencing a nickname given to the star mimicking Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos.

Some fans had affectionately dubbed the Manchester United ace ‘Shawberto Carlos’ – with the former Real Madrid man even speaking out in praise of the defender.

Missing Euro 2024 would be best for Luke Shaw

It is understandable that England are desperate to get Luke Shaw back for Euro 2024, he is the country’s best left-back.

However, from a Manchester United perspective, it really would be for the best if Shaw does not make the final cut for the Three Lions.

Shaw, 28, has been struggling to stay fit all season, returning and then suffering another injury. It is best he rests up.

With Marcus Rashford also sitting out, and taking a break after not being selected for the squad, both could benefit and return fresh for pre-season.

If he heads to the Euros, his rest time would reduce, and there is additional chance he could re-aggravate his injury or suffer a new one.

Fernnades is right, Shaw will be back, but we want him to be back to stay. Not a fleeting glimpse before being back on the treatment table.
