Report: Chelsea have set sights on £30m attacker called 'very quick' by Enzo Maresca this season

Chelsea have reportedly set their sights on signing a talented attacker who’s just wrapped up a season that he scored over 20 goals in.

While Chelsea’s manager saga draws closer to an end, the transfer speculation ahead of this summer’s transfer window begins to ramp up.

All the noise in the media points towards Enzo Maresca becoming the new Blues head coach at Stamford Bridge. So, how many new signings will he get in the squad for next season?

Journalist Fabrizio Romano reports via YouTube that Leicester City boss Maresca has agreed to join Chelsea in a deal worth £4.2m per season.

Chelsea have £30m attacker on their radar

The Telegraph now claims that Chelsea are among the clubs with an eye on Leeds United forward Crysencio Summerville.

It is understood that Leeds are braced to receive bids for their 22-year-old winger after failing to gain promotion from the Championship, losing in the play-off final against Southampton at Wembley Stadium.

The report explains that top clubs are circling for Summerville because of Leeds’ financial blow of missing out on an instant return to the Premier League.

Apparently, the Dutch youngster is expected to cost around £30m to sign in the current market.

Leeds star on fire

Despite missing out on promotion, Summerville should be estatic with how the 2023/24 campaign has gone for him on an individual level.

The fast attacker played 49 games across all competitions in total, scoring 21 goals and making 10 assists in return.

As a result, he was named the Championship Player of the Season.

It’s certainly no surprise to see him linked with a big-money move this summer.

What Enzo Maresca said about Crysencio Summerville this season

Maresca, the incoming Chelsea boss, had to set Leicester up twice in the Championship to deal with the Leeds talisman.

Maresca actually praised the Chelsea transfer target earlier in the season because of his lightning pace.

He said via the Leicester Mercury last November: “We know they are good in transition, but they are not only good in transition. Summerville, James, Gnonto, they are very quick, we need to be careful.”

So, could Maresca and Summerville be united at Stamford Bridge this summer?
