'Never seen anything like it': Kyle Walker stunned by what once happened to £22m Tottenham man

Kyle Walker has shared the experience with Heung-min Son which left him stunned, as he explained how nice the Tottenham Hotspur captain really is.

Heung-min Son has undoubtedly been one of the best forwards in the Premier League over the last decade, with the South Korean scoring 120 top-flight goals since arriving at Tottenham for £22 million.

Son has also taken on the role of being Tottenham’s captain and talisman following the departures of Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane, leading the side to a promising fifth place finish in their first year under Ange Postecoglou.

The 31-year-old definitely appears to be one of the most popular figures in the Premier League – unless you are an Arsenal fan – but his popularity seems to be on another level in his home country.

Speaking on You’ll Never Beat Kyle Walker, Kyle Walker explained how incredible a reaction Son got when Tottenham once visited South Korea.

“I went to South Korea with Sonny and I have never seen anything like it,” he said.

“He’s so nice. We would do an appearance, it was like me, Kevin Wimmer, Ben Davies and Sonny. We were like the jokers. And we would have to send a dummy vehicle pretending that Sonny had gone and all these people would corner the vehicle, stop it, and then realise Sonny was not in there and we’d be away. But then they would come back to the hotel we were staying and all night they would stay out there. I had seen Rooney, Lampard and Beckham to a certain degree like that but he was beyond them.”

Tottenham closing in on receiving huge boost this summer

Son has proved to be an incredible ambassador for Tottenham and his country, so it is no surprise that he is held in such high esteem.

The good news is that it appears that Son is planning to commit even more of his future to Spurs.

TBR Football reported in May that Tottenham are close to agreeing a new contract with Son, with talks set to continue over the summer.

Given that he has scored 67 league goals across the last four seasons, that could be a huge boost for Postecoglou’s side as they look to build on that promising first year.

Tottenham fans will hope that a new contract for Son is one of many bits of business to get extremely excited about ahead of next season.
