Ian Wright and Alejandro Garnacho left blown away by £20k-a-week Man United player after FA Cup win

Both Ian Wright and Alejandro Garnacho have been left in awe of one Manchester United performance in Saturday’s cup final win.

Erik ten Hag’s side produced an outstanding performance when it mattered most, one that ignored their lacklustre season.

Of course, as well as the triumph itself, a lot of the prevailing talk from the FA Cup win will be the future of United’s manager.

As he reminded all at Wembley, Ten Hag has now delivered two trophies in two years, doing it in style against rivals Manchester City.

And suddenly it would seem like a bold move for the top-brass at Old Trafford to now part ways with their manager, who has been operating in difficult circumstances.

Moreover, despite those struggles, Ten Hag has been able to bring through several young players of late, talents who offer so much promise for the future.

And having scored Saturday’s winning goal, Kobbie Mainoo demonstrated just how much potential exists at the club.

Alongside the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund and Amad Diallo, United have a core of excellent young players, who are all benefiting from Ten Hag’s stewardship.

And having won the second trophy of his career, 19-year-old Mainoo took to Instagram to celebrate the triumph.

Mainoo uploaded a collection of several photos alongside a caption of: “By any means necessary! God bless this football club. FA CUP CHAMPIONS 2024.”

Safe to say the post was a popular one, with many Manchester United players and supporters then replying with their own praise for £20k-a-week Mainoo.

Ian Wright left several applauding emojis, recognising a huge English talent ahead of this summer’s Euros.

And having scored the first goal in Saturday’s 2-1 win, Garnacho also left a message simply saying: “You are the best.”

Does Mainoo deserve to start for England at the Euros?

Of course, following Mainoo’s superb all round performance for Manchester United, many are now calling for the midfielder to start in Germany this summer.

Gareth Southgate appears to still have a somewhat vacant spot alongside Declan Rice, perhaps currently earmarked for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

But on Saturday’s evidence, there’s absolutely no reason why Mainoo couldn’t start and then make that spot his own for the next decade.

All that being said, Wayne Rooney was incredibly impressed by one moment in United’s unexpected win.
