Dealer found with £20,000 drugs stash in Cambridge

A drug dealer who was found with more than £20,000 worth of drugs in his Cambridge home has been sentenced.

Police uncovered the crack cocaine, cocaine and heroin after they carried out a warrant at the home of Jayden Holmes in Arbury View.

Officers searched the home and a vehicle associated with him on 13 February and found the class A drugs as well as more than £3,100 in cash and two mobile phones linking him to the ‘DJ’ county drugs line.

The warrant and his subsequent arrest were part of a county-wide operation – Hypernova – which resulted in 51 county lines dismantled and 33 people charged with 93 drug and human trafficking offences.

Holmes was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for two years, at Peterborough Crown Court on Friday (24 May) after previously pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, heroin and cocaine, possession of a controlled drug and possession of criminal property.

Det Con Oliver Campbell said: “This warrant was part of Operation Hypernova – a partnership response to tackling county lines drug dealing and human trafficking across Cambridgeshire.

“Jayden is the latest person to be convicted as part of this operation and we encourage members of the public to help us ensure others are also put before the courts by passing on information or concerns.”
