'Obviously': Matty Cash says Man City have a player who has been 'incredible' for years now

Matty Cash has claimed that Manchester City have a player who has just been a class act for a number of years.

The Aston Villa right-back has faced Manchester City six times during his time in the Premier League.

Cash has been on the losing side five times and he has been involved in one draw between both teams.

Matty Cash says one Man City star has been brilliant for a long time

The Polish international did not play in Aston Villa’s 1-0 victory against Manchester City in December.

However, the 26-year-old was on the bench, as Ezri Konsa started at right-back for Unai Emery’s side.

Speaking to talkSPORT, while praising Piotr Zielinski, Matty Cash claimed Jack Grealish was brilliant at Aston Villa and remains a top player.

Cash said: “You’ve got Zielinski. Incredible. Honestly, I think he’s probably the best, you look at obviously [Jack] Grealish and you look at obviously [Robert] Lewandowski, speaks for itself. I think Zielinski’s probably the best footballer I’ve played with.”

“Yeah, it’s incredible.”

“Obviously, as I said, you’ve got Grealish that when he was at Villa, he was incredible, obviously as well now and Lewandowski, speaks for itself but Zielinski’s the one for me.”

The £100 million man did not have his best season at the Etihad Stadium but he remains a top-class attacker.

Kyle Walker claimed that the three-time Premier League winner is more of challenge to defend against than Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior.

Grealish has become a more complete player at Manchester City

Having witnessed Jack Grealish carry the burden of Dean Smith’s Aston Villa side on his back, Matty Cash perhaps needs no reminding of how cracking a player he is.

As Cash emphasised, his former teammate remains an incredible attacker.

Often, it is argued that the 28-year-old was a much more entertaining player during his time at Villa Park but in our view, he has become far more complete since joining City.

Jack Grealish’s understanding of adapting to the tempo of a game has significantly improved at Manchester City; considering his sole aim at Aston Villa seemed to be to impact proceedings at all times.

At City, Grealish mixes his game up in a much better way while defensively, he was not even half the player he is today at Villa.

Matt Targett would do a lot of the Englishman’s dirty work — the effects of which were evident in his debut season at City, where his defensive work was far from fine-tuned.

But at Manchester City, Jack Grealish has been developed into a player who tracks back brilliantly, wins duels and is not afraid to get stuck in, adding a new element to his game.

All in all, Grealish has matured as a player under Guardiola’s guidance and with time, attackers tend to add more strings to their bow in any case.
