Powerball winning numbers, live results for Wednesday’s $143M drawing

The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s lottery drawing has jumped to an estimated $143 million with a cash option of $66.8 million.

The Powerball drawing will be held at 10:59 p.m. and televised on WABC-7 in New York City and Fox 29 in Philadelphia. NJ.com will publish the winning numbers immediately following the drawing.

No one across the country hit Monday’s $131 million jackpot. A second-prize, $1 million ticket was bought in St. James, New York. It matched five numbers but not the Powerball.

In New Jersey, no one won more than $500 with a single ticket.

Monday’s winning numbers were: 9, 30, 39, 49 and 59. The Powerball drawn was 21 with a Power Play of 5X.

In addition, no one across the country won the secondary, $10 million Double Play drawing on Monday. Those winning numbers were: 20, 31, 39, 45 and 56. The Double Play number drawn was 19.

The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 to win a third prize of at least $50,000.

Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
