Motoring offences among latest Newark area cases at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court

Speeding motorists were among the Newark area cases at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court recently.

Paul Ansell Briggs, 54, of Ambleside, Ollerton had his case reopened on May 15.

He pleaded guilty to driving a Subaru at 42mph on a 30mph road, Tuxford Road, Boughton. The offence occurred on September 15, 2023.

Briggs was fined £266 and ordered to pay costs of £196.

Roy Khera, 63, of Willow Wong, Burton Joyce, pleaded guilty to driving at 69mph on a 40mph road.

The offence occurred when Khera drove a Volkswagen on the A453 Remembrance Way, Clifton, on August 21, 2023.

He was sentenced on May 20.

Khera was fined £346 and ordered to pay costs of £228.

Six points were added to his licence.

Wing Ki Cheng, 40, of Lingford, Cotgrave, was sentenced for driving without due care and attention during an appearance at the court on May 21.

She pleaded guilty to the offence, which occurred when she drove a Toyota on Derby Road, Nottingham, on September 26, 2023.

Cheng was fined £80 and ordered to pay costs of £32.

Five points were added to her licence.

Mazin Mohammed, 28, of Burwell Avenue, Greenford, Ealing, also appeared at the court on May 21 for sentencing.

Mohammed had previously pleaded guilty to driving a Mercedes at 38mph on Farndon Road, Newark, which has a 30mph limit.

The offence occurred on September 18, 2023.

He was fined £133 and ordered to pay costs of £143.

Three points were added to his licence.
