Ukrainian Air Force speaks on repelling Russian combined air attack overnight

The Russian occupiers launched a combined air strike on Ukraine last night, using almost two dozen missiles of various types, as well as more than 30 kamikaze drones, according to Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia struck Ukraine with:

  • 8 S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles,
  • 11 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles from Tu-95 MS strategic aircraft,
  • 32 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs.

Russia struck the Kharkiv region with S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft missiles.

Bombers from the Russian Saratov region launched cruise missiles.

Russian troops launched kamikaze drones from Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Cape Chauda in the occupied Ukrainian Crimea.

Ukrainian air defense operation, peculiarities of repulsing Russian attack

Ukrainian Air Defense Forces shot down 7 Russian cruise missiles and 32 Shaheds.

The defenders of the Ukrainian sky eliminated Russian air targets within 9 regions, namely:

  • Khmelnytskyi
  • Dnipropetrovsk
  • Cherkasy
  • Kirovohrad
  • Zaporizhzhia
  • Odesa
  • Kherson
  • Kyiv
  • Vinnytsia.

Anti-aircraft missile units of the Ukrainian Air Force mobile fire groups and the Ukrainian Defense Forces electronic warfare units were involved in repelling Russian air attacks.

Russian air attack on Ukraine on May 30

On the night of May 30, the Russian Armed Forces first launched Shahed-type attack drones in several groups during another air attack on Ukraine. They later struck with ballistic missiles and cruise missiles from strategic bombers. Thus, a large-scale air alert was declared in Ukraine.

Last night, a Russian air attack caused explosions in Dnipro and its suburbs, in Kharkiv and its district, and Khmelnytskyi region. Four people were injured in a Russian missile attack in Kharkiv, a critical infrastructure facility was hit, and there were fires in the regional center and district.

Later, a video and photos were released showing the aftermath of a Russian missile strike on the village of Mala Danylivka, Kharkiv region, where a historical monument was destroyed.

In the Khmelnytskyi region, Starokostiantyniv was targeted, among other things.
