‘I must admit’: Mark Wilson concedes he got it completely wrong on what he said about Celtic this season

It certainly was a rollercoaster season for the Celtic fans to deal with this year.

From signing eight players in the summer to Brendan Rodgers looking like he didn’t fancy any of them apart from Luis Palma.

And with mounting injury issues to some of our best players, the Celtic boss has had plenty to contend with in his first season back at the club.

And let’s not forget Celtic lost a commanding lead at the top of the table and had, what was perceived to be a poor January transfer window.

This season has thrown up plenty of curveballs for the Celtic supporters and Mark Wilson had just admitted that out of all these issues, he was completely wrong in his opinion on one of them.

Wilson admits opinion on Adam Idah was wrong

Like many Celtic supporters, Wilson had a lot to say about Brendan Rodgers’ business in the January window this season.

The addition of Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn left him feeling underwhelmed but after the Irishman’s performances and goals this season, the former Celtic defender has held his hands up.

Wilson said [Superscoreboard], “You know Celtic’s transfer business in January was slaughtered. And you know what? I wasn’t really head over heels with Idah coming in either.

“Because you’re thinking he can’t get a game for Norwich, how’s he going to fit in here?

“I must admit when I’ve seen them at first, I thought no there’s something in it, especially away at Easter Road.

“For them to come on at Pittodrie and Kuhn made an impression that day, I think he got the equaliser with the deflected goal.

“But it’s been Idah that’s really kicked on and stood out from the two of them.”

Idah has certainly become a fan favourite after his winning goal in the Scottish Cup final last weekend.

Now back at Norwich City, the Celtic fans will be looking to Brendan Rodgers to ensure that the Hoops boss does all he can to capture the 23-year-old on a permanent move.

With Norwich City’s managerial problems right now, this could be the perfect time for Celtic to make their move as long as the price is right.

All eyes are on the club now and the hope that a deal for Idah can be struck sooner rather than later.
