Player openly admits his teammate is dreaming of joining West Ham this summer

One player is dreaming of joining West Ham United in the summer transfer window it seems.

New West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui is planning a very big overhaul in the summer transfer window, with six new signings thought to be on their way to the London Stadium.

Fabricio Bruno should be Lopetegui’s first signing as Hammers boss, after the club agreed a fee with Flamengo for his services.

The 28-year-old Brazilian is a proper old school defender, with the added bonus of being comfortable in possession.

We told you a few days ago that Fabrizio Romano gave the Bruno to West Ham deal his famous ‘Here We Go’ confirmation.

However, Brazilian journalist Vene Casagrande then claimed via his official X account that the 28-year-old had in fact rejected an offer from the Hammers.

So as things stand, we’re currently unsure as to whether he will end up at the London Stadium or not. And now there’s been yet another twist to the saga…

Player admits his teammate is dreaming of joining West Ham

Those of you who are concerned about the Hammers potentially missing out on Bruno this summer, fear not.

It seems as though the player is very clear in his mind about what he wants to happen regarding a transfer to West Ham.

Flamengo centre-back Leo Ortiz has been speaking to Globo Esporte about Bruno’s potential move to the London Stadium this summer.

Ortiz said, “I hope for him, that it’s for his own good. It’s a dream for him too, he’s already made that clear, he’s already expressed it. So we know that sometimes dreams don’t knock twice. I hope for his happiness. If it’s best for him, let him go. We’ll always be rooting for him if that happens.”

Mmmmm…

So he’s dreaming of a West Ham move, but has rejected our offer? That’s quite the twist isn’t it. This seems like one we should be able to get over the line.

If Lopetegui and Tim Steidten are insistent on signing Bruno, the Hammers owners must pull out all the stops to make it happen.

It just depends on whether the Brazilian centre-back’s demands are fair or not. I still fully expect this one to go through.
