Mark Pope has landed the Big Fish.

BYU guard Jaxson Robinson pulled his name out of the 2024 NBA Draft pool ahead of the Wednesday night deadline and is transferring to the Kentucky Wildcats, he tells ESPN’s Jeff Borzello. Robinson will play his fifth and final college season in Lexington. He chose UK over the likes of Kansas and a return to BYU.

Clocking in as a 6-foot-7 guard, Robinson was named the Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year in 2023-24 for BYU after averaging a team-high 14.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 26.4 minutes per outing. He shot 42.6 percent from the field, 35.4 percent from deep (6.9 attempts per game), and 90.8 percent from the free throw line.

Originally a four-star high school prospect from Oklahoma, Robinson started his college career in the SEC. He played at Texas A&M in 2020-21 before transferring to Arkansas for the 2021-22 season. After limited playing time at both stops, he found a home in Provo, UT with Pope and has been a high-level contributor ever since. Along with winning Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year, Robinson was also tabbed as an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention this past season.

After not receiving the NBA Draft feedback he was looking for during the pre-draft process, he’ll now reunite with his former head coach back in Lexington. Pope has just one more scholarship to work with ahead of the 2024-25 season. The complete roster is almost here.
