Man Utd attacker has set out one 'personal target' he is determined to hit as he could soon 'fulfil his dream'

Manchester United misfit Jadon Sancho has set out a ‘personal target’ and is inching closer to fulfilling one of his ‘dreams’ with German club Borussia Dortmund.

That is according to Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic, who has backed Jadon Sancho to complete “one of his personal targets” in football.

Sancho is coming towards the end of his loan spell with Dortmund, having returned to the German side in January after completing his move away from Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old Manchester United winger was handed a lifeline to revive his career away from the Red Devils after his falling out with manager Erik ten Hag.

Sancho was frozen out of the United first team in 2023 after the Dortmund player hit back at Erik ten Hag over the manager’s comments about him.

Ten Hag had revealed why the United loanee failed to make his squad for the Arsenal match in 2023, which led to Sancho dropping a statement on social media.

Man Utd star Sancho has personal target

Jadon Sancho has made 20 appearances for Borussia Dortmund in his second spell and the Manchester United winger has scored three times for the club this season.

The United loanee, who also has three assists in 20 matches for Dortmund this season, has impressed for the German club in the Champions League.

Dortmund have reached the final of the Champions League and the Bundesliga outfit will clash with La Liga champions Real Madrid on 1st June at Wembley.

Despite showing shades of the old Sancho at Dortmund, the United misfit failed to make Gareth Southgate’s provisional 33-man England squad for Euro 2024.

Sancho, who received his England debut under Southgate in 2018, has been capped 23 times for the Three Lions and featured at Euro 2020 for his country.

Dortmund manager Edin Terzic has revealed that the England international has made his return to the national team one of his “personal targets” in football.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, he said: “Jadon has to prove something that he wants to win the Champions League trophy with us.

“I think you can see that he is very happy with us, with the group.

“To be honest, I didn’t speak to him about the English national team. This is one of his personal targets and I’m quite sure that he’d love to be involved in the national team, from my point of view, I also think he deserves to be involved with the national team of England.

“But he made a decision a couple of years ago to leave us because he wants to be very successful in this career and he thought that this step would help him and support him to win the Champions League.

“Now he’s back and now he’s as close as possible to win it.”

Sancho and Champions League ‘dream’

Terzic has been happy with Sancho’s involvement in Dortmund’s Champions League campaign and said that lifting the trophy is a “dream” for the United winger.

“We are facing teams on a mission to win the Champions League, and if you are on a mission, you can complete a mission or you can fail,” he added, as per the Manchester Evening News.

“But we are there to fulfil a dream and this is our target, we are going to fulfil the dream or we’re going to fight for it, that is the difference between a dream and a mission.

“This is what I feel with Jadon he wants to fulfil his dream to win and lift the Champions League trophy.

“Hopefully, we can give him the support to reach that because we know he’s going to try his absolute best on Saturday.”
