Investigators probing N.J. housing complex shooting that killed 36-year-old

Authorities in Union County are investigating a fatal shooting that took place on Friday, May 24, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office announced Thursday.

Police responded at about 10 p.m. for a report of a shooting at the Mravlag Manor housing complex in Elizabeth. There they found 36-year-old Jair Adams, of Elizabeth, dead at the scene, officials said.

No other details were provided on the incident and an investigation into the shooting is active and ongoing, according to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Sergeant Lamar Hartsfield of the Union County Prosecutor’s Office at 908-451-1873 or Detective John Londono of the Elizabeth Police Department at 908-578-5192.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the county prosecutor’s office website.

Information that leads to an indictment and conviction is eligible for a $10,000 reward when submitted through the Union County Crime Stoppers website.
