Verdict Reached In Trump Hush Money Criminal Trial

In a historic day for America, the jury has reached a verdict in the Trump hush money criminal trial.

After just nine hours of deliberation, the twelve-member jury was ready to deliver the historic verdict at 4:20 p.m.

Former President Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, faced 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection with a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016.

What happens next?

Should the gavel of guilt come crashing down upon Trump, the matter of his sentencing will rest in the hands of Judge Juan Merchan, likely to be scheduled in the languid months of summer. This does not necessarily mean Trump will face prison time, as the charges he was found guilty of are classified as the lowest-level felonies under New York law.

If Trump is convicted, it will not prevent him from seeking the presidency.
