TalkSPORT presenter Simon Jordan has insisted that neither Sir Jim Ratcliffe nor the Glazers will be “swayed” on one major decision that could deeply affect Manchester United.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe became a co-owner of Manchester United after he purchased a minority stake in the Premier League club in 2023.
The 71-year-old Ineos chief has seen his team take control of football operations at United as part of the deal, with Ratcliffe keen to restore the club’s prestige.
The Glazers had initially hinted that a full sale of United could have happened in 2022 after the club confirmed they would “consider all strategic alternatives.”
Qatari businessman Sheikh Jassim and British billionaire Ratcliffe were among the interest parties in United after the Glazers suggested they could sell the club.
However, Sheikh Jassim withdrew from the race in 2023 after he previously tabled an offer worth more than £5bn to buy United outright from the Glazer family.
Jassim’s exit from the bidding process paved the way for Ratcliffe to secure his minority stake purchase in United before the end of 2023.

Erik ten Hag’s second season at Manchester United ended on a high note after the Red Devils defeated Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley last week.
However, the Dutchman endured a turbulent 2023-24 campaign before the FA Cup triumph, which saw United finish in eighth place in the Premier League.
United will be without Champions League football for the 2024-25 season, but the Red Devils will compete in the Europa League after they captured the FA Cup.
Erik ten Hag’s long-term future at Old Trafford is up in the air after Sir Jim Ratcliffe became a co-owner of United.
The former Ajax boss is under contract until 2025, but United have been linked with several managers amid the uncertainty around Ten Hag.
Speaking in his column for The Daily Mail, Simon Jordan believes that Ten Hag is on the chopping block irrespective of winning the FA Cup trophy.
“Manchester United papered over the cracks with their FA Cup win against Manchester City,” he wrote for the newspaper.
“The players were possibly primarily motivated by potentially playing for their futures rather than for Erik ten Hag.
“One swallow does not make a summer and, if Jim Ratcliffe and the Glazers had made their mind up over sacking the Dutchman before Wembley, they cannot be swayed by a piece of silverware.”

Gareth Southgate is among the managers who have been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months, with the England boss currently preparing for Euro 2024.
The 53-year-old is expected to take England to his final tournament in charge ahead of his contract expiring with the Three Lions in December.
Gareth Southgate made the big call to axe United star Marcus Rashford from the 33-man England squad for Euro 2024 in Germany this summer.
Jordan previously welcomed the decision made by Southgate and once again reiterated that it was the right call to drop Marcus Rashford.
“I like the decisions Gareth Southgate has made over selection,” he said.
“He has picked a squad that’s capable of winning it and removed sentimentality.
“This is business mode now as proven by the decision to leave Marcus Rashford and Jordan Henderson out of the squad.”
