Mayor Adams: NYPD Stands Ready To Handle Large-Scale Protests Following Trump Verdict

Mayor Eric Adams responded on Thursday evening to the guilty verdict in the criminal hush money trial, declaring former President Donald Trump guilty on all counts.

The statement from Mayor Adams came minutes after Trump announced a press conference scheduled for Friday at 10 am at Trump Tower.

“NYPD stands ready to respond to any and all circumstances, including large-scale protests,” stated Adams. ” While peaceful protests and assembly will always be protected, we will not be a city of any form of lawlessness.”

The mayor underscored the importance of respecting the integrity of the criminal justice process.

Found guilty of all 34 counts Trump has become the first American president in history to be convicted of felony crimes.

After the verdict was announced, Trump emerged before the press, defiantly stating, “The real verdict is going to be November 5 by the people. And they know what happened here. And everybody knows what happened here.”

Trump is awaiting sentencing on July 11, 2024.
