Game-changing Lucas Paqueta twist is surely a monster boost for West Ham

A big Lucas Paqueta twist has emerged after news broke about the FA charges that were levelled against the West Ham star.

Lucas Paqueta has endured a whirlwind two years with West Ham so far, and things took a turn for the worse last summer.

10 months ago, it emerged that the 26-year-old was being investigated by the FA for potnetial betting breaches.

However, it was only last week when he was officially charged, and the Hammers hierarchy apparently fear that the Brazilian’s career could be over if he’s found guilty of deliberately getting booked on four occasions.

It has also been suggested that he could face a multi-year ban, and that would obviously be the worst news possible for West Ham.

We have also told you how the Hammers have even held discussions about potentially suing Paqueta, if he’s found guilty.

This time though, it seems like there’s some good news for the midfielder…for a change!

Latest Lucas Paqueta twist after FA charges

The Hammers star has been a key player for us over the past two years.

Before the news about the betting investigation emerged, the West Ham fans were fearful of him joining Manchester City, with Paqueta himself keen to join Pep Guardiola’s side.

After all that has happened over the past year though, a move to Man City is probably a very long way away for the Brazilian.

Everyone involved with the Hammers are still waiting with bated breath for the outcome of the betting investigation aimed at Paqueta.

And now, it seems like there has been some really good news for the player.

The Telegraph have reported how Paqueta will be included in the Brazil squad for the upcoming Copa America.

Now, when the 26-year-old was initially being investigated by the FA for potential betting breaches, he was dropped from the Brazil national team squad.

Paqueta was only reintegrated back into the Samba Boys setup during the last international break back in March.

I firmly believe that the Hammers ace being selected for the Brazil squad again is a huge boost for West Ham.

Why would they have dropped him before but called him up this time? Maybe I’m reading too much into this but I have real hope that Lucas Paqueta will be just fine in the end, in spite of the FA charges he is facing.
